Earthquake in Haiti: Empowering Leaders in Crisis
Communitas

When a disaster strikes somewhere in the world, CRM is not usually on the list of first-responders. If someone says "humanitarian relief", CRM probably wouldn't be the first name that comes to mind. In fact, nowhere in our mission statement is the term "disaster relief" or anything like it even mentioned.

So when the earthquake struck Haiti in January this year, it might surprise you to find out that within a few days our staff were on the ground organizing relief efforts and helping to deliver critical supplies to some of the hardest hit areas. In some cases, their help made the difference between life and death.

So what was going on? Did we change our focus? Are we redefining our mission? Not at all! In fact, our staff's response to the disaster in Haiti was a perfect example of what we do best: empowering leaders...so that the name of God is renowned among the nations.
