For You are great, and do marvelous things. You alone are God. Psalm 86:10
The Republic of Singapore is tiny in size, but big in influence. A densely populated city-state in Southeast Asia, it is remarkable for its:
•Diverse ethnic/religious/language groups that represent the largest non-Christian populations in the world. Chinese, Malay, and Indian peoples practice Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity, and speak four languages. Singapore is a gateway into these major ethnic populations in Asia.
•Economic prosperity. Since independence from its former British colonial roots over 40 years ago, Singapore has grown phenomenally from a small third-world country to a thriving first-world economy that aspires to be the major financial, educational, and transportation center of Asia.
•A vibrant church which has more Chinese Christians than any other country outside of China, and is known for its contemporary worship, cell group structure, community service, and vision for world missions. Singapore church leaders are well-positioned to build spiritual leaders throughout Asia.
Two CRM US families moved to Singapore in 1999 and started serving the church through missions training. In 2001 they started their first Focusing Leaders Network, and in 2003 established CRM Singapore as a registered religious organization.
Today, CRM Singapore is known for mentoring pastors, mission leaders, and Christian business people. A dozen Focusing Leaders graduates have facilitated their own networks, and have now started groups in three neighboring countries.
Our vision is to build greenhouses for spiritual leaders in Singapore that will impact all of Asia. We are trusting God to mentor 1,000 leaders through CRMS by 2015.
Three Singaporeans serve on staff with CRM in the US, Scotland, and East Asia. We are asking the Lord to raise up six local ministry staff in the next five years.
