STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

InnerCHANGE Community Development

As development practitioners in InnerCHANGE, we commit ourselves to:

1. Focus on God's Kingdom.

2. Facilitate the natural development of individuals and communities toward a better future.

3. Put the well-being of people and the quality of their relationships before programs, ideas, money, organizations and visible growth.

4. Work with and/or through new and existing churches as we build links with the community, wherever possible.

5. Let the community lead in advancing its own development.

6. Network and collaborate with other organizations and churches to avoid unnecessary duplication of effort and combine our strengths to create a more faithful response to a community's problems and needs.

7. Be sensitive to culture and nurturing to the natural environment.

8. Press for social and institutional change that will alleviate and prevent poverty, promote justice for the poor, facilitate conflict resolution and/or nurture and protect the whole of God's creation.
