InnerCHANGE Kampong Cham City (IC KCC)
 |
Home Visit by Sunrise Staff |
InnerCHANGE has been present in
Kampong
Cham City since 1998.
IC KCC seeks to minister holistically
to those marginalized by society in Kampong Cham City, by raising up and equipping
local church leaders and laity to model the love and restoration of Jesus Christ
through word and deed. The past eight years of IC KCC's ministry
have had an obvious impact on the desire and ability of the local church to respond
to social needs. Since the fall of 2006, the daily work of IC KCC has been carried
out by local Khmer staff.

Sunrise Volunteer Training |
IC-KCC conducts
Biblically-based teaching on holistic ministry
in all the churches and denominations present in Kampong Cham and participates
in monthly inter-denominational fellowship meetings. Through
Sunrise,
IC-KCC provides practical care, encouragement, and livelihood enhancement for
up to 60 people and families who are living with HIV/AIDS in a home-based care,
and up to six in a hospice setting, depending upon their need. As part of Sunrise,
over 135 community members are fruitfully ministering as volunteers to persons
living with AIDS and their families, finding fulfillment in service of neighbor
and community.

Hands of Hope Participant |
Hands of Hope
continues to provide a source of constructive employment for 5-10 people who
make a variety of fabric products that are marketed in Cambodia as well as the
USA.
IC KCC continues to work in the
Kampong Cham Prison, teaching
literacy, basic morals and moral behavior, raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, domestic
violence, and peace building. IC-KCC is seeking to further engage with the
Kampong
Cham Orphanage where it has historically been involved in channeling
funds from other agencies for provision of basic needs and, more recently, has
begun placing volunteer tutors for the children. Within the
Kampong Cham
government elementary school system, grades 3-6, peace building classes
as well as domestic violence awareness are taught.
As part of its mandate to work among the poor and marginalized, InnerCHANGE
will continue to respond to opportunities to be an
advocate,
linking the poor with services they are entitled to such as education, healthcare,
and social services.
