Steps of Hope is a local non-governmental organization created through a partnership between Romanians and InnerCHANGE. At Steps of Hope we believe that transformation happens through being present and building trusting, long-term relationships. It was created as a venue to foster relationships within the community.
Our purpose is to identify and initiate programs for people in need that provide support for their growth and education. Steps of Hope is an independent organization through which local Christians and the general community can serve and learn with those who are marginalized. We desire to serve in a way that when people ask us why we do what we do or why we seem so different, we can respond not with a denomination, but only with Jesus Christ.
Steps of Hope’s initial program is a mentorship initiative with children at risk from poor and disorganized families. Currently we are working with 15 children ages 10 to 15.

Our purpose is to provide holistic support for children from poor and dysfunctional families for their personal development and integration into and contribution to society.
Objectives:
1. Improvement in school
2. Development of skills necessary for socialization and integration into society
3. Personal development of each child's unique gifts and talents
4. Increase in the participation of the family in the development of the child
5. Participation of the community in the lives of children at risk and their families
We believe that true healing comes only from God, and desire to support each child in their spiritual development. We will seek to support and relate in ways that causes people to ask why. We will incorporate the following strategies:
To love -- In every activity, every word spoken, every relationship, to show the love of Jesus
To speak truth -- In everything we communicate (verbally and non-verbally) to promote Christian morals and values, justice, mercy, humility, and purity
To point to Jesus -- As we develop trusting relationships with our children and their families to share how God has worked in our own lives and point to His fingerprints in their lives
