Discernment Visit

Each spring, the team coordinates a 10 day visit for all those  considering joining the team in the fall. Those interested should contact John Shorack. 

3 - Year Missionary Formation in Barrio Ministry

For those who've completed a discernment visit or an internship with InnerCHANGE and have a growing sense that God is leading them to work with us, InnerCHANGE offers a three-year formation program. The Venezuela team requires a 2-year commitment to begin this formation track.

The formation program incorporates the action of team ministry and experiences in the barrios with guided times of reflection and learning with teammates. A special priority is given to their devotional life with God.

We're especially looking for young singles and couples who love people, are teachable and have some Spanish language capability. They should be motivated to learn with us on the journey of empowering the poor toward community transformation.

Families with a special capacity to handle the stresses and inconveniences of barrio life are also highly desired.

Experiences in urban ministry, youth ministry, sports or recreation, arts and crafts, music, dance or drama are very useful for ministry in the barrios.

Special Assignment: English Teachers

We recruit English teachers that teach a course in English as a Second Language (ESL). Time periods are flexible as well as seasons of the year. The course draws students from the hillside barrios, local churches and Venezuelans preparing for overseas mission work. There is also high demand to teach English to the children in the barrios.

Recommendations: Candidate should have some formal training in TESOL (1 year certification recommended) and would act as the coordinator of classes. All teachers must raise their financial support or cover their personal expenses. Living with a Venezuelan family is encouraged. Teachers should, however, have a basic understanding and appreciation for InnerCHANGE and a desire to make a contribution to our ministry in the barrios.
