Inside Communitas

Communitas teams operate on four central values:

1. Community – We serve and live interdependently, celebrating the unique contribution of each person and community.
2. Mission – We exist to expand God’s Kingdom. We posture ourselves to love those who are beyond the reach of the church for whatever reason.
3. Spiritual Formation – We follow Jesus …together. Hence, we worship, listen, pray, grow in our dynamic relationship with Jesus together, and regularly.
4. Diversity – We celebrate the mosaic of subcultures within our society. Therefore, we celebrate the incarnation of Christ in the various ways demonstrated by our different communities

If you visit one community, it will be completely unique to the other communities. The context drives us, as well as whom God calls to each community.

Why Communitas?
Because we’re in an age where people are no longer listening to the words that come from the church. From the shift to post-Christendom, postmodernity, the negative echo of church for many, and the cultural shift far from the Judeo-Christian ethic, – all and more contribute to a day when people simply cannot understand the message of Christ from the church. We strive to embody a holistic Gospel that gives “flesh” to the Words, the truths of who Jesus is through our posture to serve, radically love and sacrifice and relate in normal life with those who would never give a hearing to conventional church efforts. Our goal is simple – expand the Kingdom.
