What is our Philosophy of Ministry?

The revitalization of a local church starts with the renewal of its leadership.  Countless strategic planning processes have been tried which start with the organizational life of the church, expend huge amounts of effort, and develop new plans only to achieve minimal results.  The leaders who are called upon to champion the new plans are often more exhausted at the end of the planning process then at the beginning.

A core paradigm of reFocusing is that personal renewal precedes corporate renewal.  The vitality of a local church starts with and is led by its leaders.

reFocusing is not a program, but a process that creates a series of learning environments beginning personally with the pastor and moving to the leaders of the congregation.  After the pastor and leaders have discovered what it means to have greater personal focus and align themselves afresh with the heart of God, they are equipped to lead the congregation through a corporate discovery process.  This personal discovery process is called Focused Living.

The congregational reFocusing process, called Focusing Ministry, empowers a congregation to work together to discover and begin to align itself with God’s desire for its next chapter.

Behind the scenes of what is happening in the life of the congregation, the pastors’ network continues to meet.  Change and renewal in the local church requires more than strategic planning, it requires leadership.  In phase two, the pastors’ network is designed to help pastors grow as strategic leaders with the capacity to face the challenges of leading change as their churches implement the discoveries of the Focusing Ministry process.
