FINDING A HOME AT THE HARBOR

At the age of 17, Russian orphans in the state-run orphanage system are turned out onto the street with minimal education or survival skills.  From then on they are forced to find their own way.  But most do not.  Russian president Vladimir Putin has said, "A national crisis exists and we must make the orphan problem Priority One."

Based in St. Petersburg, Russia, The Harbor's mission is to prepare orphans for successful integration into society.  The Harbor believes life is cultivated best in a supportive family environment, not a classroom.

The Harbor provides assistance in 5 core areas:
- Education  

The Harbor helps participants complete their high school education and become eligible for college.
- Vocational Training 

Includes computers, sewing, English, cosmetology, auto mechanics, carpentry, and others.
- Life Skills Training

Includes cooking, nutrition, personal hygiene, budgeting, and family living.
- Counseling 

A trained psychologist provides one-on-one counseling to address personal issues unique to orphans.
- Spiritual Formation 

The pastor at The Harbor conducts Weekly Bible study and one-on-one discipleship is provided.
